In Kevin’s first exhibition 1992, he sold 23 paintings in 3 days. Since then he has taken part in many exhibitions and art fairs in Canada and the UK, including 3 solo exhibitions.
Explaining his approach Kevin said ‘it’s about interpreting the landscape by achieving a kind of balance. My aim is to hold a mirror to nature; especially experiences which make me feel life is great. I interpret the landscape through my own individual sensibilities, which included a heightened level of colour and using the paint as an equivalent for detail’.
Kevin studied at Art College, full time for six years, specialising in landscape painting and was awarded a scholarship to study from the Catherine and Lady Grace James Foundation. He achieved a Master of Fine Art Degree from Newcastle University 1990. With an initial grant from the Arts Council, he went on to make 11 trips to Canada, taking part in 16 exhibitions, the most recent in 2011.
