Liz Whiteside is a self-taught artist with a love for creating animal images in charcoal, acrylic and pastels. As a child she always enjoyed drawing and painting and, after raising a family, she rediscovered her passion in 2009. Liz has successfully sold work through exhibitions, local galleries and art fairs.
2014 saw Liz learn how to sew after she inherited her late mother’s 1966 sewing machine and every single item is proudly made by her. She has now built up a range of quirky cushion designs where she combines her original artwork with Harris Tweeds, wools and linen. Liz has designed a range exclusive to North East Art Collective – which have a Harris Tweed back for complete luxury.
In 2017 Liz experimented with mixed media and NEAC have her first piece – Belle, using a brand new medium Panpastel, mixed with soft pastels and acrylic. More new work will be coming soon.
