As we treat our eyes to the sight of Karen Jones’ Shibori Brooch, we are greeted by the delicate but conspicuous blue Shibroi silk, forming the majority of the heart shaped piece of jewellery. The silk is enhanced by an array of seed beads, which encapsulate the symbol of love – a heart. The outer seed beads adjust colour dependant on lighting, appearing to be a light yellow-gold colour in bright light and darken into a deep purple when there is limited light. The folds in the Shibori Silk inside the seed beads, are adorned with crystals and pearls, giving off a spectrum of colours from green, to blue, to white, to purple, a stunning sight. This really is a unique brooch, which has something new to offer every time you look at it. A piece of jewellery that you could never become tired of!
