In 1 week will be opening the shutter and welcoming your smiling faces back through our doors.
We are so unbelievably excited for this day to arrive!
When Boris announced the January lockdown it was expected but it still came as shock to the system. We had spent months working with our artists to put together a full exhibition of amazing new works, that due to the lockdown were not going to be seen by you in person. But as things settled in and we used online to show you, all the works of art that had been created, you seemed to love every piece in the way we had hoped you would.
And soon our thoughts turned to how we could use the lockdown to its full advantage. In lockdown one we redesigned and launched the new website, in lockdown two we prepared for Christmas and the New Year… so what could we do with lockdown three??
When we are open, we never seem to find the time to do all things on the to do list, and there has been one thing on the list for longer than we would like to admit… so finally we did it!
After 10 years North East Art Collective has received a well-deserved birthday make over.

It started with a tin of white paint and a tin black paint and then we took a hammer and a screwdriver to a display cabinet… which in itself was a very happy moment, but it led to an incredibly happy moment when we found a handy man to finish what we had started.

But eventually the front of the gallery started to change in front of our eyes…

The counter moved and new cabinets arrived and as we stud outside on the mall looking in, we couldn’t help but be filled with an overwhelming sense of pride, that the hard work was paying off and the gallery was becoming unrecognisable!

But with 7 days to go there is still so much planned before the big day arrives. Electricians, work man and even artists will be calling in to help make these changes possible and add even more excitement to the week we have been dreaming of.

So I hope you are now filled curiosity or at least excited enough to call in and see for yourself how different the gallery is looking. On top of the physical and aesthetic changes you might even notice that we’ve had a lot of new work delivered for you to enjoy
