Barbara Bowden

From an early age Barbara taught herself to paint & pursued art as a hobby whilst making a career in Nursing & Midwifery. Her style has been influenced by Ron Ranson & Ian King after attending 2 Art Courses in Norfolk.

Retirement has offered more time to her painting & she has held 2 Exhibitions in Morpeth & 1 in Hexham during that time. Morpeth County Council commissioned her to design Millennium Christmas cards for a local Charity Northumberland Foundation for Young People. She has also sold prints from original paintings through The National Trust.

In the past she has successfully exhibited work in The Blagdon Gallery, Coquetdale Gallery and The Chantry Morpeth. Barbara is also a member of Morpeth Art Group & currently exhibits here in North East Art Collective Gallery in Eldon Square Newcastle upon Tyne, as well as a few other local outlets.

‘I have found the beauty of Northumberland t be truly inspiring & use bot oils & watercolours t reflect my feelings for this part of England. My work consists almost entirely of landscapes, Northumberland scenery, Coast,Castles & Heritage, the Lake District & Norfolk Broadlands’
