Chris Cummings

Chris Cummings is an artist who lives and works in Sunderland. After several years of doing private commissions, Chris now makes his artwork a full time commitment. He currently exhibits his work in local and national galleries. Chris takes inspiration for his artwork from a life time spent supporting Sunderland Association Football Club. Living in Sunderland his whole life and supporting the Black Cats he has no shortage history and heritage to inspire his paintings. Chris doesn't just take his inspiration from sporting traditions, he also takes inspiration from the local industry. Often highlighting the Northern industry of ship building. As well as beloved local landmarks such as Penshaw Monument. He might not stick to sports as the influence for his artwork but it is very rear of him not to showcase Sunderland in his paintings. His preferred mediums for creating his artwork are oil paint , acrylic paint and pastel depending on size and subject of the work.
