Dave gave up working as an Operating Department Practitioner in 2016, when he began attracting lots of interest on social media. He realised that he couldn’t keep up with the demand for his art while still holding down full-time employment – so he took the plunge and became a full-time artist.
His work is usually based around military and remembrance themes, generally inspired by events from his previous career as a soldier, or on subjects and events that have been requested by others.
Dave’s work is varied; Cold-cast iron and copper sculptures, pencil, coloured pencil, pastel works and acrylic paintings. He puts the variety down to the fact that he has a terrible attention span and gets bored very easily so he has to constantly re-invent himself!
