Jo Hope

Jo is inspired by landscape , sea and sky, and the natural world. Working mainly in Acrylic and oil paint, her style is realistic but with an emphasis on colour greatly influenced by several years spent in the Bahamas with its vibrant colours of sea and sky.
With an art school background in 3D design, Jo has drawn and sketched for many years in between several careers – teacher, mother, jewellery designer and restaurant manager – but it was the desire to paint that was realised after moving abroad. During that time she exhibited and sold her artwork and undertook commissions.
Since returning to the UK, Jo is now a resident of Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. Her current work features the landscapes and coast of Northumberland and the Border country where she lived for many years before moving abroad, and to which she still feels a strong connection.
