Keith Opie
Keith has been an illustrator for 30 years, living and working in Newcastle. He cycles along the river each day and always takes in the impressive sights of the bridges over the Tyne. It’s such an iconic symbol of the city and depicts the great history of Newcastle. Keith wanted to capture this in the style of a vintage rail poster promoting the northeast to the rest of the world. Within Keith's most popular image he wanted to show some iconic local names from Greggs to Fenwicks and Bellway to Ringtons. he has also shown himself in the scene cycling over the Millennium Bridge. There is a number 9 NUFC shirt and joggers on the Tyne Bridge to acknowledge the great Sporting heritage of the city. The Tyne Bridge picture is a celebration of our city in print.
