Sarah Farooqi is a watercolour artist specialising in landscapes, townscapes and illustrated maps. Her pictures begin with pen drawings and evolve into busy watercolour collages which reflect a love of detail and colour, and a sense of fun. Whilst working on commissions, she also exhibits in a small selection of galleries and craft shops throughout Northumberland. She grew up in Teesside, and trained as a graphic designer in Leeds. Sarah now lives in Morpeth where she has worked as an artist since 2008. Her studio is her dining room table.
“My influences are varied but favourite artists include Arthur Rackham, Grayson Perry, and the Cornish naive painter Alfred Wallis. I also love the intricate patterns and stories in Aboriginal art and illuminated manuscripts.”
Alongside a selection of originals, Sarah’s work is available as individually signed and titled giclee prints in many different sizes, including miniatures and also greetings cards.
