Sharron Blackmore is an artist working mainly in oils and soft pastels for her paintings and commissions. Working in traditional methods and always with the finest artist quality and lightfast materials, when it comes to her brushes however, she prefers to leave the hairs on the animal and only uses synthetic mongoose.
Living near Durham, Sharron works from a studio in her home watched closely by her two dogs. Sharron has never known a time in her life without animals. From working in a safari park to domestic pets, she knows what makes them tick.
Capturing the essence of animal’s thoughts, emotions, intentions and instincts, gives me the passion to paint. The natural colours of nature, the softness of fur, the expression in an animal’s eye, the list goes on. I guess I just love to paint animals.
