Sofia Barton

Inspired by Heritage & Nature in the North East. Sofia's experience includes working with BBC Scotland, Edinburgh Fringe & NCJ Media. She has created online workshops for Gem Arts, Working it Out, Durham University and SitC Online. She has also had Artist Residencies include Nasty Women UK 2018 and Durham University's Bishop Cosin's Library 2020-2021. Working for Wild in Art Sofia has designed the 'Brightside' Elmer in the Great North Elmer Parade 2019 as well as the 'Celestial' & 'Yellow Belly' Imps as part of the Lincoln Imp Trail 2021. Sofia has had exhibitions which include Spilt Milk Gallery in Edinburgh and Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in 2021. She has also appeared on BBC Newcastle & in the Evening Chronicle tackling issues about social enterprises, ethnic minorities and other issues facing female artists
