Trevor Craggs
Trevor Craggs is an artist and sculptor whose paintings are rooted in landscape recalling atmospheric encounters in changing light, weather and seasons. His appreciation and interest in sculpture was developed during his University art history lectures coupled with years of life drawing. Born in Newcastle Trevor graduated from Art School in the late seventies and after a 20 year career working as a graphic designer/illustrator returned to University studying Fine Art gaining a BA Hons and now works full time at his passion. ‘My paintings are based on memories and observations conveying an emotional connection to landscape. My ceramics are figure based sculptures allowing me to explore colour, texture and form’. Trevor’s paintings are predominately oil and his ceramic sculpture is sensitively fired using Ancient Japanese Raku, Smoke or Crystalline techniques.
