Inspired by the beautifully scented honeysuckle that grows in Angela’s garden. This original work of art has been created using mixed media techniques of Pen and Ink and Paper cutting.

Paper Cutting 

The art of Paper Cutting is actually called ‘Scherenschnitte’ which is German for Scissor Cuts. The art has evolved uniquely all over the world to adapt to different cultural styles. One traditional distinction most styles share in common is that the designs are cut from a single sheet of paper.

Paper cutting is a beautiful, versatile art form, which often has rotational symmetry within the design.

The intricate and difficult skill requires the use of a sharp craft knife and paper, the quality of the paper helps to reduce the risk of losing the artwork to damages such as rips and tears with in the details.

Once the single sheet of design cutwork is completed the background is then built up with colourful distinctive layers of paper..
