Richard Teasdale is a Contemporary Fine Arts Artist who specialises in the use of oils, his subject matter concentrates on the culture and heritage of the North East and Northern life through his impressionist depictions of it’s people. His single figure, and group studies, are literally ‘brought to life’ by their life-size scale and evocative brush strokes.
Richard studied Fine Art at the Manchester Metropolitan School of Art and completed a B.A. Fine Art Degree course with honours in 2003, he later spent 3 years living and working in Manchester, using spare time to produce a portfolio inspired by his own experience and sense of Northern life. Richard later moved back to Newcastle Upon Tyne where he continued to combine both working and developing his individual style. Since 2003 Richard has exhibited his work in various Galleries throughout the North East.
Richard intends to concentrate on the iconography of the Northern way of life, where he feels he can provide an escape from our hectic society into a world of romantic nostalgia that is still prevalent in the North East.
